Tragic event hits The Boston Marathon

On April 15th, 2013 a marathon was being held in Boston. Thousands of people were attending rooting for their family, friends, and loved ones. The air was filled with happiness as the contestants were running through the finish line after running an exhausting 26.2 miles. As the marathon was coming to an end, two bombs went off within minutes of each other. Sadly, 3 people died including an eight year old boy and hundreds were wounded. People’s limbs were detached from their bodies and some even suffer from internal damage. Luckily, cops quickly figured out who the suspects were. Nineteen year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother, twenty six year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with the police on the night of April 18th; Dzhokhar was lucky enough to escape the police but was thankfully caught the next day.

What happened in Boston on April 15th was a very tragic event. A little girl now has only one leg and no longer has a big brother to look up to. Hundreds of families are affected by this incident but are still looking on the bright side of things which is exactly what you need to do in a situation like this. What Tamerlan and Dzhokhar did wasn’t right; they targeted hundreds of innocent people and blamed it on their religion. They made pressure cookers filled with nails, put them in their backpacks and dropped them in front of people that they didn’t even know. When the bombs exploded people ran around in kayos looking for their families and making sure they were okay and unharmed but unfortunately a lot of them had major injuries. Hopefully nothing this awful happens again.
